I have been staying here since early June 2019 and can't say enough great things about this Hotel and the Staff it employs! I am a disability retiree from local law enforcement and am still recovering from a bad accident last December. It has left me unable to move back into my multi-level home with my kitty, Niblet.
When I called the Hotel directly, Jana Cirkovic patiently worked with me to make my room reservation for an open-ended extended stay in a handicap-accessible room at a rate comparable to other online booking sites. She then also assured me she would be here when I arrived to personally check me in and escort me to my room. (I suffer from severe anxiety and PTSD from the car accident that led to my disability retirement) so this meant a great deal to me. She also had me call to see if I could check in early and I was able to do so.
True to her word, Jana not only checked me in and escorted me to my room but she made multiple trips to my car to retrieve things for me. She assured that I had the refrigerator and microwave I requested and got me extra coffee and a bucket of ice before she returned to her Front Desk duties. Jana has continued to work at the Front Desk while making me feel as if she is my personal concierge. That is the pinnacle of Customer Service, in my opinion (& prior to Law Enforcement, I was a Customer Service Manager for an International giftware company for many years.)
Throughout my stay here, I have been unable to retrieve my own ice due to my disability. The entire Staff has been kind and gracious in filling my ice bucket for me. Wanda, the Head of Houskeeping, even made special arrangements for some her staff to get me ice as needed in the evening (Javier in particular.)
Speaking of the Housekeeping Staff, they have been instantly responsive to all my needs, and work very hard behind the scenes. I want them to know how much I appreciate them and I thank them for their cheerful diligence.
From Maintenance, Groundskeeping, and the Restaurant Staff, to my TV technician, everyone here greets you warmly and leaves you feeling as if you are staying at a cozy family Inn instead of a large Hotel. It's true that the Hotel had become a bit dated and run down in recent years, but that is soon to be completely in the rear view mirror. Major renovations have been underway for some time now and are steadily moving into the west wing of the Hotel, the exterior and even the parking lot.
Even more exciting news: they have reinstituted FAC (Friday Afternoon Club) from 5-8PM in the outdoor lounge by the pool/gardens with live music, food, etc. This tradition began in the 1960/'s I believe, and I can attest I was a regular attendee in the '80's & early ‘90’s. It's my understanding it will continue, weather permitting, into the Fall.
I want to give very special recognition to all the young women working here this summer from Serbia and South America on Work Visas. In addition to Jana Cirkovic, they include Stasa Gagic and Tamara Rudic. They have been so professional, gracious and kind to me, and to my kitty, Niblet. She has grown to love many of them and will miss them when they return home at Summer's end (as will I.)
Quentin, the Hotel Manager, has always gone above and beyond in accommodating my needs and taking the time to answer all my questions.
In closing, I salute him for employing a top-notch Staff where the emphasis is on Customer Service, where it should be. Thank you!
