“Excellent location, good service”

My husband and I had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at this lovely, characterful hotel. The location is really excellent, directly opposite Gloucester Road tube station and within walking distance of some great pubs and restaurants, and about a 15 minute walk from three of London's best museums. The suite we stayed in was spacious, tastefully decorated and had a very comfortable bed. The staff were unfailingly polite, cheerful and helpful. The only slight disappointment was the breakfast which wasn't worth the 22 pounds we paid for.

“Perfect Staycation Hotel.”

We wanted a night in an area of London that we didn’t know well and this hotel came up on a sight with a good deal. It’s perfectly located for travelling by public transport, being opposite Gloucester Road tube station. Our room, one up from the smallest, was perfect. Decent sized, well decorated, great shower and everything we needed. It was hot at night, and it wasn’t a particularly warm evening. The air conditioning didn’t seem to matter what setting it was on, it was ineffective on them all. All the staff we encounter were friendly and professional. The buffet breakfast was adequate, with staff serving at the buffet rather than the normal free for all. Maybe this is a measure due to Covid, but it was a nice touch and done well. This is a perfect hotel for either a London staycation or a business traveller. If you like museums, they are plentiful in the area. We walked to Kensington High Street in 15 minutes and Harrods under 20 minutes. The hotel has a bar, but it’s not very inviting, being functional rather than cosy. I felt their lunch and evening restaurant was the same, but there are so many local options you won’t go hungry. There is also a small Tesco and a Waitrose close by to pick up any essentials. The TV in the was was perfectly positioned, but for some reason ITV was tuned into East Midlands. The foreign traveller would not realise the difference. For me I wanted local weather, travel and news. It didn’t spoil our stay at all, but was strange. We would definitely return and explore the area again.
