Stayed here for 2 nights over the bank holiday weekend with a friend from Liverpool and I could not fault this hotel We normally stay at other chains so I was nervous as to what to expect but I can honestly say that the staff were far friendlier and knowledgeable than any hotels we've stayed in before! The staff are willing to do anything to make your stay lovely!

I was really satisfied with my stay at this hotel, the room was tidy, the bed was very comfortable and the staff were really friendly. It is also in a great location!

I stay in this hotel regularly, usually for 3 or 4 nights. There are lots of good hotels in Newcastle but none that have staff this friendly AND rooms this big AND views this good. Rooms really are huge - even smaller ones in what is called the short wing - are larger than most modern hotels can offer, and though the decor isn't as up to date as some newer hotels it's rather quirky and has an Art Deco feel. All rooms look out over the Tyne. I've seen some spectacular sunrises. Heating and cooling systems work well and rooms include a fridge, kettle and hairdryer and bathrooms have a shower over the bath. The staff are exceptionally cheerful and helpful - nothing is too much bother. Breakfasts are buffet style though there are also items cooked to order and the restaurant faces onto the river. Bar food and restaurant food are both good and service is generally swift. My only criticism is that the menu seems only to change twice a year. The hotel is quiet and a short walk along the river offers a great choice of restaurants, bistros, bars and clubs and across the Millennium Bridge is Gateshead's Sage with the Metro Radio Arena a short walk in the opposite direction. Reasonable rates, comfortable bed, good food, good location, friendly staff, sizable rooms. What's not to like.
I stay regularly at the Copthorne, Newcastle and always have an excellent experience. The location is perfect for visiting Newcastle and the rooms all have river views which I particularly enjoy. On site parking adds to the overall experience.
Excellent hotel, friendly and efficient staff throughout. Only stayed for one night as we were in Newcastle to see a play at the Theatre Royal which was a £5 taxi ride away.Restaurant times clashed with our other arrangements so relied on room service to eat which was delivered within ten minutes and was of high quality. We will be back.
