Excellent location and great value 10/10

This is a great value for downtown Chicago. The Millennium Knickerbocker exceeded my expectations. The location is just half a block off of Michigan Avenue near the John Hancock Building. Check in was quick. Front desk was friendly. Took the small, but fine, elevator to the fifth floor. My room had everything you would want in a full service hotel. I appreciated plenty of hangers, room safe, ironing board, lounge chair plus desk chair. The bathroom had a huge walk in shower with a rain head and a wand. The room was clean and in good shape. It was not opulent like a Ritz but plenty nice. Not the biggest Chicago room I've had but not the smallest either. A/C worked fine. Bellman was very friendly when I stored my bags at departure. British Airways crews were in the lobby too watching the world cup as they waited for their ride to O'Hare. There's a nice looking lobby bar but I didn't have a chance to use it. Obviously being on the Mag Mile there are plenty of great restaurants within walking distance. There's a concierge desk should you need assistance. I was very pleased with this stay and I will definitely be back.

"Excellent Value and Location!"

This is a beautiful old hotel and reasonably priced. The location is perfect for walking to restaurants and grabbing a bus to the museums, shopping or the water. We had a nice view of the water from our 6th floor room. It's very close. The elevators work well. The king size bed is so completely comfy, and the pillows were perfect! The room & bathroom were spotlessly clean and kept clean by the maids all week long. The small bathroom is completely new and updated. No tub, and I'm not a huge fan of the rain shower/handheld device. I prefer a strong blast of water. There's not much room in the mini fridge because is already packed with products they sell. I did shove a small Gino's pizza box in there, which we brought home on the airplane and ate at home because there is no microwave. There is a Keurig. It would have been nice if the hotel had complimentary coffee in the lobby, but you can buy it for $3+ at Nix, the amazing breakfast & lunch restaurant in the lobby. We had breakfast there every day and can't say enough about the kind staff (Andre!) and amazing food. The rooms are small, meant for 1 or 2 people. The desk chair is so close to the bed that when my husband sat at the desk, I had to crawl over the bed to get to the other side of the bed where my suitcase and phone were. I did that a lot. When I sat at the desk, I had to turn off the A/C. It blows right on you and was freezing! The hotel staff were always so nice and told us exactly how to get where we wanted to visit using public transportation. I can't wait to stay here again.

"Under the radar hotel in Chicqgo"

The Knickerbocker Hotel in Chicago is a hidden gem. Great location, reasonably priced, very good value. A little dated but half the price of The Drake across the street. Martini Bar is classic old school hotel lobby bar.
