The Moose is like a Te Anau institution where the locals come to eat and socialise. It’s a great meeting place for a beer and a casual meal that is better than your average ‘pub grub’. The lakeside location, like many places along the strip, offers al fresco dining and an awesome gazing point for the lake. There’s often live musical entertainment, and when the season is right, the rugby is playing on television screens. They love rugby so much they’re the major sponsors of the Te Anau Rugby Club.
