An easy, short walk that showcases a small section of the Fiordland National Park is The Chasm, which is located just before Milford Sound. The car park is sign-posted, so don’t worry; you can’t miss it. The 1-kilometre return track leads you through the forest and over footbridges that cross the roaring Cleddau River. Be mesmerised by the water-sculpted rock formations and views of the surrounding mountains.
