The Southland District Council take care of this pretty park that can be found a kilometre from the visitor centre. Grab a free fishing licence for the kids and head to Lake Henry, where there are stocks of rainbow and brown trout for the little ones to catch. There are also easy mountain biking trails throughout, and the park is dog-friendly too. It’s especially beautiful in autumn when the leaves are changing colour.
