This old movie cinema was opened in 1930 and was referred to as “The Theatre Beautiful” for its grand design and spare-no-expense decor. The glamorous cinema served the city until 1991 when it was closed due to lack of attendance. But the community was outraged and fought to get the beloved cinema restored to its former glory and reopened.
