Linens were soft, rooms were modern and clean. We loved the decor, the restaurant's breakfast and watching the planes fly in on Lake Hood.

Walking into The Lakefront was like walking into a lodge. Only took a matter of minutes and we were checked into our rooms. Thank you Tina for being so good to us at the front desk. Our room unlike some reviews of no lake view rooms was indeed a lake view room. 3030 & 3032 . Bethany, Jacob, Jessy also big help at the front desk. You ask and you shall receive from all of these fine people. Miss Nancy took care of our room needs and did a wonderful job. Thanks for the extra coffees. The restaurant was a little pricey yes, but what great service we had. And the view from the restaurant is unreal. Getting to watch planes land and take off right in front of you is pretty awesome. You are right on Lake hood and I do mean right on it. We rented a car from enterprise on the 3rd day and went south to ride the Alyeska tram, a must do if in Anchorage. Then off to the conservation place to see a lot of wildlife. Also a must see place. Another place south is Whittier, you must drive through a 2 1/2 mile tunnel to get there, the tunnel is a glacier and it is pretty much unreal too. The sights going are breathtaking and at this time of year October 1-8 2017 the trees are very colorful the mountains are snow capped but warm enough for just jackets. This place on earth is worth a return visit and we just got home, yes, but already planning next years visit.
Had an absolute wonderful time! The room was large and clean, the restaurants were good, it was nice to sit on the patio and watch the float planes. The washroom was accessible but a small lip would help the water flooding in to the floor.
As soon as we got there I noticed that our room was nice, but was facing the parking lot instead of the lake. We asked if there was another room and we were able to switch to a room with a much better view with absolutely no hassle. It had a roomy walk in shower and a really comfy bed. The lobby had a really cool rustic look that you want when visiting Alaska. They don't offer shuttles from the train Depot, but they comped our cab fair. It was an awesome hotel to stay in.
