The Rustaveli Theatre was founded in 1879 and is revered in Georgia and abroad. Outside of Georgia, it is often called “The Theatre of Stars” in honour of its actors’ gifts. The theatre offers many interesting plays to Georgian and Foreign Guests. One of the most important plays staged in a theatre is The Caucasian Chalk Circle by world renowned director Robert Sturua. His version is also considered by many critics worldwide to be the best.
