Travelling by a water taxi (also known as a 'waxi') has become a 'must do' for anyone visiting Manchester and is a unique experience that allows you to see this great city from a whole new perspective. Relax as you sail past some of Manchester's most historic landmarks such as the Museum of Science and Industry, Ordsall Hall, Victoria Warehouse & Hotel Footbal before embarking on a guided stadium tour of one of the world's most successful football clubs.

Your first-class executive water taxi will drop you off directly outside the Manchester United Museum at Old Trafford, after which you can enjoy a 75-minute stadium tour accompanied by an expert guide, get an inside look at the players' daily lives with a visit to the dressing room followed by a walk through the tunnel that leads to the pitch. Imagine hearing the roar of 75,000 fans as you set foot on the field.

Sit down in the Managers' dugout to get their perspective, listen to historical commentary about the club from your local guide before departing on board '#waxiMCR' for your return trip to central Manchester or intu Trafford Centre.

Your 4-hour tour also allows you enough time to shop at Manchester United's Megastore or grab a bite to eat in the Red Cafe (own expense).

I think describing this as a 'cruise' is a bit of a misnomer as it is really just part of the regular water taxi run along the canals. The Viator website quotes a 'professional guide' as included, but this relates to the Old Trafford stadium tour and not as part of the water taxi 'cruise' - this should be made a lot clearer! The booking, which we made in advance, included a guided stadium tour of Old Trafford, but on our arrival at the stadium at approx 11.15am we discovered that we had not, as we should have, been booked on to a tour. After a great deal of toing and froing and thanks to the assistance of the girl at the tour desk, we were eventually able to get onto the 3.20pm tour, but this meant hanging around for 4 hours and meant that after the tour we missed our return water taxi! The tour of Old Trafford itself was great, but black marks to Viator for not securing our tour booking despite us booking in advance because it was a Saturday and we knew the stadium would be busy.
