Housed in the only castle in the Twin Cities, the American Swedish Institute is a museum and art centre. Built in 1908 by Swan and Christina Turnblad, the 33 room mansion models the Old World European castles of their native land. Today, the Institute has many attractions for visitors to explore and experience including Nelson Cultural Centre which hosts touring exhibits, the ASI Courtyard, the ASI Museum Store that sells exceptional Nordic design souvenirs and the Wallenberg Library and Archives.
