Discovering Cuba Street

Bohemian chic is the theme at Wellington’s famous Cuba Street. Locals meet to chat, drink coffee, grab lunch or dinner, or watch the diverse array of buskers. Sporting both culinary and creative soul, this lively street has been a registered Historic Area under the Historic Places Act since 1995 and was actually named after the ship of an early settler in 1840 – not an island in the Caribbean.
