Take a break and visit the Carter Fountain

Located 150 metres into the harbour is the Carter Fountain, a stunning water fountain that spouts water up to 16 metres high. It was installed in 1973 thanks to a donation from a local resident, Hugh Carter, who was inspired by a similar fountain in Geneva, Switzerland. The fountain is controlled by a wind sensor, so it’s best to visit when the weather is calm.
