Visitors to the Duke Lemur Center will probably be surprised to learn that outside of Madagascar, Durham has the largest number of Lemur species in the world. With more than 250 lemurs from 21 different sub-species, this place is a definite treat for animal lovers, both young and old. The center is currently celebrating 50 years of research, so now is a great time to observe and enjoy the company these cute little creatures.
