Besides shopping, there are also plenty of excellent restaurants, cafes, spas and art galleries here.

Orientate yourself by heading to Ion Sky, the 56-storey-high viewing gallery in Ion Orchard – the unofficial ‘heart’ of the shopping strip – to get a bird’s-eye view of the city state.

When you need a break from all the material luxuries of life, it is time to get close to nature to soothe your soul. Fort Canning Park and the Singapore Botanic Gardens flank either end of Orchard Road, so you’re never too far away from some greenery.

Now that’s why they call Singapore ‘the Garden City’.
