Queenstown Hill rises almost a kilometre into sky and is located behind the central business district. The town reserve is also known as Te Tapu-nui. Pass through the iron-wrought gates and begin the Time Walk to the top of Queenstown. The hike is steep but the path is well-marked with information plaques along the way. Take your time, and wear proper footwear to reduce the intensity of the ascent. Once at the summit, you'll be glad you pushed on: the views are vast and stunning. Allow two or three hours for the round trip.
