The Kawarau Bridge is home to the world's first commercial bungy jumping operation, with people jumping from the 43-metre bridge on 12 November 1988. AJ Hackett and Henry van Asch were the Kiwis responsible for bringing bungy to the masses. Some people believe you haven’t really experienced Queenstown until you’ve jumped off K Bridge.
