Doubtful Sound is the larger and more obscure neighbour of Milford Sound. It’s not as accessible; therefore, you’re limited to visit with a tour operator. Tours begin at Lake Tours Manapouri, a 21-kilometre drive from Te Anau. It’s a big day of lake cruising, coach travel, bush walks through remote beech forest, and a catamaran tour of the fiord, which is the deepest and second longest in the area.
