I chose it for the location near my daughter's condo and enjoy staying downtown
Things really need updating. I believe the door to the bathroom might be original and it has a vent that was full of deacdes of dust and grime--couldn't miss it sitting on the toilet but housekeeping obviously doesn't get that view. Also thought the decor was ridiculous. The bed was nuts.

A gorgeous historic hotel in the heart of downtown L.A. Excellent and cheap parking across on the other side of Olive Street in Pershing Square Parking. The bed is very comfortable and the room is beautifully appointed. It's very quiet and the service is great.
The building is a little old and needs some updating. Some things in the room are chipped, tattered, or don;t quite work properly anymore, like the closet doors, etc. Also, if you're going to the Music Center or Disney Hall, it's a mile walk up/down a steep hill which is a little scary at night as it's not the best neighborhood at night.

Great old hotel kept in wonderful shape.
Rooms are no frills and small but adds to the charm.

The Staff was. Dry friendly and helpful.
There was no clock in the room which I would have liked when getting up and ready for a day at a convention.
