Stayed two nights, during 19 day tour of NZ. Queenstown was the highlight of our visit, a truly beautiful town with dramatic mountain views across a lovely lake. The hotel is just outside the town centre, some 20 minutes walk downhill, in a safe environment. There is also an alternative lakeside walk needing a short detour. Both walks might be a challenge on the return journey given the steep incline as you reach the hotel. There is however a bus stop immediately outside the hotel. So Queenstown is a must visit. The hotel is quite large but this is reflected in the room sizes, compared to tsome of the hotels we stayed at. We did not have an evening meal but the breakfasts were good with a varied selection. The hotel is clean, the staff very pleasant and there is a sheltered courtyard area in the middle of the hotel which can be enjoyed for quiet relaxing. A shower in the bath is perhaps a dated feature, but I did not consider the hotel to be "tired" as some reviewers have indicated. I would visit again if visiting Queenstown.
