Tying the knot? The UK Wedding Show comes to the Excel in London

Mar 05,2013

It's been known to make grown men weep… and that's just the Best Man's speech! Wedding days come in all shapes and sizes, but a reliable common denominator is that arranging the event can be a significant challenge - they don't call it the Big Day for nothing, you know! Thankfully, expert help is at hand - without the need to hire a wedding planner - at the Excel Exhibition Centre in London on the 16th and 17th February 2013.

The UK Wedding Show brings together, under one roof, every type of professional you could hope to meet when planning the perfect nuptials. Across some 120 stands you will find everything from photographers and caterers, to wedding dresses and chauffeured cars - and if you want to hire a wedding planner, you'll find them there, too.

The UK Wedding Show is much more than just a one stop shop, however. Inspiration and ideas have proven to be just as important to many attending UK Wedding Shows over the last few years as purchasing goods and services, and the organisers are clearly aware of this fact.

The Fashion Show is an ever popular feature that can really trigger a breakthrough in the search for that most important of centrepieces, the wedding dress, while also offering sartorial inspiration for the rest of the bridal party, from the groom to the bridesmaids.

Beyond these 'usual suspects' of the world of wedding related services, there are also a number of innovative new ideas at the London Wedding Show that many will not have seen before, including a special photobooth for getting some fun and informal shots of your guests throughout the day, which can be instantly shared through social media. This is an idea that might also work well at a stag or hen do - although maybe what happens in the run up to the wedding is best kept as an undocumented secret!

Another novel idea for keeping everyone entertained, as arrangements are made for the transition from daytime ceremony to night time reception, is a special cash-free casino. Games are played with bespoke 'money' which you gift to your guests - providing a memorable memento of the day - as well delivering a bottle of bubbly to the biggest winner!

And if there are any senior members of the wedding party out there, who think that signing up for the services of a personal trainer to get you in shape for the big day really isn't your style - we're not joking, it's an option these days! - there is always the Champagne Bar to reward you for all the tireless work that will go into planning for the Big Day.

With so many opportunities to ramp up the spending, the chance for free entry to the exhibition will no doubt come as a welcome relief, and this can achieved by simply registering 'bride plus one' at the UK Wedding Show website, and printing off the tickets - we're expecting this enticing offer to bring more than a few blushing brides-to-be to stay in our London hotels on the weekend of the 16th and 17th February. We look forward to seeing you!
