“Wonderful stay!”

Stayed over Xmas. Have stayed a number of times before. Had a lovely room on the 12th floor looking towards Queen St and Mayoral Drive. Very quiet. Staff were all wonderful. Had access to the Club Lounge where the service was great. Received some lovely treats from the hotel as it was our birthdays. The Xmas buffet was amazing especially the desserts. Best I've ever seen. Had a fall while I was there and the staff were wonderful. Only problem was lack of access to my Spark webmail via the hotel's wifi. As all other sites worked fine it was probably Spark's fault. Also the gym is really well equipped and they have a lovely outdoor area. Would be nice if the gym stayed open longer than 10pm though. If it's to avoid disturbing guests above, how about just locking the doors to the outdoor area? Guests were partying outside on one of the suite's decks above, however till nearly midnight. This was a first though, out of all the times I've stayed but maybe the hotel could've shut it down earlier. Overall though this is a wonderful hotel and I love the huge Xmas tree they have every year. Please hurry and bring back the lovely hanging bird sculpture which looks great in the space.

“Suite as!”

On a recent visit to Auckland, I stayed one night at this hotel and on booking in was bemused but delighted to receive an upgrade to one of their upper-level (in both senses) suites. As I was travelling solo and not for business, it was somewhat wasted on me to have a large lounge with a luxurious sofa, meeting table and chairs, and separate toilet facilities -- but, rest assured, I didn't refuse the offer. As always with the GM, I greatly enjoyed my stay with the only slight downside being a slight background hum, possibly from the air conditioning fans on the roof.
