Located on the shore of Michigan Lake, Oak Street Beach was created when sand from the sandbars washed up against the northern side of Streeterville. The beach is part of the Chicago Park and is a popular summer hangout for locals and tourists. It is easily accessible from North Avenue beach as well. In the evening, this beach is filled with volleyball players and families having light dinners while enjoying views of the Chicago skyline.
