This museum is perhaps one of the best equipped to tell the story of how the Industrial Revolution transformed a region. Spanning 10 hectares, the museum grounds include more than 50 shops, houses, and workshops that have been renovated to display the region as it was during the days of its industrial might. Hop on the tram and ride across the village, and go down into the coal mine to experience what life was like for the miners. Don’t forget to chat up and be regaled by anecdotes narrated by the many costumed characters you’ll meet along the way.
