Linens were soft, rooms were modern and clean. We loved the decor, the restaurant's breakfast and watching the planes fly in on Lake Hood.

Ask about the turn down service and don't pass up that cinnamon roll for breakfast! It was amazing! Such beautiful room with a romantic atmosphere to celebrate our 5th anniversary! A 6 person dining table in the suite! Nice than ours!
We stayed here several nights during the lead up to the famous Iditarod race, which for those unfamiliar with the race is held during winter. The foyer is something to behold with animals from the area everywhere in cases. It really gives you an appreciation of the size and power of the polar, brown and black bears. There are several places to sit in the large foyer and is reminiscent of a hunting lodge.Situated on a lake, I can imagine it being a spectacular view during summer with the planes taking off and landing on the water. We only had the frozen lake, but even this was spectacular to look at.The staff are friendly and helpful, even though it is a large complex. The rooms are adequate in size with all amenities needed there.Breakfast is in the Flying machine restaurant in the foyer and is purchased of a menu. The serves are large and tasty. We found the Fancy moose bar, also of the lobby, was a great place to eat at night and sometimes they had live entertainment. We must give a big thank you to Victoria, the hard working concierge who pointed us in the right direction everytime.
This is a very nice hotel, good food in the restaurant and just minutes away from the airport.Enjoyed watching all the small planes take off and land while enjoying a meal. Free airport shuttle and shuttle to down town area in the warmer months.Hotel is lacking a gift shop and staffing was sparse in the restaurants
