Setu Babakan (or Small Lake) Babakan is the center of the Betawi Cultural Village also known as Perkampungan Budaya Betawi or Betawi Cultural Preservation Village. The 66 hectres village pays tribute to the indigenous Betawi cultural and heritage of Jakarta. Visit Setu Babakan to admire Betawi culture such as lenong (traditional Betawi comedy), topeng dance, traditional Betawi wedding and of course Ondel-ondel. The people here still use Betawi language. The best time to visit here is in June and July. These months are the time to celebrate special Jakarta Independence Day celebrations.
