R'n'B stars The Whispers and The Dramatics are set to face off in a battle of the bands-style concert at the Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC) in March.
One of the best-loved and most consistently popular acts on the R'n'B scene, The Whispers began their career back in 1963 but didn't enjoy their biggest chart success for two decades, when they released the hits And The Beat Goes On and A Song For Donny.
The Dramatics also started out in the 1960s, beginning as a typical stand-up vocal group before making a skilful transition to the disco era in the late 1970s with more upbeat dance numbers.
Among their biggest hits of the 70s are Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get, In the Rain and Hey You! Get Off My Mountain.
The concert will take place at the DPAC on Saturday March 9th. Anyone searching for a place to stay close to the venue should look no further than the Millennium Hotel Durham.
