Durham Performing Arts Center, 123 Vivian St, Durham, NC 27701
Anyone who likes to follow various types of dance around the world will probably have heard of Kyle Abraham, one of the most groundbreaking artists to come out of America in the past five years.
Guests at Durham hotels who have not yet had the chance to see him in action can do so if they visit the city's Performing Arts Center on June 28th or 29th.
As part of the American Dance Festival being held there, he will showcase his newest work entitled Pavement, which is inspired by the 1991 film Boyz n the Hood, backwards jeans, hi-tops, Kris Kross and everything else relating to 1990s hip-hop.
However, Abraham also uses his moves to examine discrimination and black America over the years.
Tickets are available for between $18 and $48, but they may be unsuitable for small children due to strong language.
Guests at the Millennium Hotel Durham can get to the Performing Arts Center in just nine minutes in a taxi.
