Shedd Aquarium, 1200 South Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, 60605
Stingrays are cartilaginous fish related to sharks that are common in marine waters around the world and are much-loved by scuba divers thanks to their ethereal nature.
Guests at Chicago hotels can get up close and personal with these beautiful creatures thanks to a special exhibition at the city's Shedd Aquarium this year.
Between now and October, Stingray Touch will be on display outside the attraction to help teach visitors more about rays and how they can be protected in the wild.
It will even be possible to touch the fish as they glide by in special plunge pools and come to the surface to investigate who is there.
Entry to Stingray Touch is included in the price of Total Experience Pass or Shedd VIP Tickets, or admission can be purchased separately.
Guests at the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel Chicago can reach the aquarium using the subway's red line towards 95th street, disembarking at Roosevelt.
