Enjoy the art of Rembrandt the Etcher in Boston
From 10 August 2013 To 17 February 2014Address
Museum of Fine Arts, 465 Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02115
Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn was a Dutch artist famous for his remarkably clear portraits of people living in the 17th century.
However, he was also an accomplished etcher and guests at Boston hotels will be able to find out more about this thanks to a special exhibition being hosted soon by the Museum of Fine Art.
Rembrandt the Etcher will be on display from August 10th this year until February 17th 2014 to showcase and explore almost 300 etchings the artist made between 1630 and 1661, including biblical scenes, landscapes and nudes.
Visitors can wander around and see - among other things - how Rembrandt pioneered the use of Japanese paper and was able to alter each image from a single plate by inking it up differently.
This exhibition is likely to fascinate anyone with an interest in art, as well as Rembrandt fans in particular.
The museum can be reached in just over ten minutes by car from the Millennium Bostonian Hotel Boston.
