Sons of Bill are a rock band hailing from Virginia - and they are set to play a gig at the Old Rock House in St Louis on November 2nd.

They have garnered comparisons with Bruce Springsteen and the early records of REM - and it is clear that the band are diligent students of an older generation of rock n roll than many of their contemporaries.

Indeed, they also owe a debt to the traditional music of the Virginia region and their live show is highly acclaimed.

This is characterised by the evolution of acoustic ballads into material that is perfectly suited to sweaty stage dives.

Doors open at 7:00 p.m. CDT, with the group due to take the stage one hour later - and entry costs $10.

Visitors to the city could do much worse than booking rooms at the Millennium Hotel St Louis - as it is just a 20-minute walk away from the venue.
