Kris Allen was a musician dreaming of the big time until 2009, when he won that year's series of American Idol and became a star overnight.

He has since enjoyed five singles on the Billboard charts and toured with the likes of Keith Urban, Maroon 5, Barenaked Ladies and Lifehouse.

Allen's latest album Thank You Camellia came out in 2012 and he is now on the road promoting it.

Guests at St Louis hotels can catch him at the city's Old Rock House on April 15th, when he will show off his rich voice and heartfelt lyrics.

It is sure to be memorable, as Allen once said of his gigs: "I always want people to walk away impressed. I want them to hear a song and freak out every time."

Residents of the Millennium Hotel St Louis will have no trouble getting to the Old Rock House, as it is just 16 minutes' walk away via South 4th Street or a ten-minute bus ride on the number 40 service.
