No list of top superheroes would be complete without Spiderman and Superman.

However, comic book fans who prefer the webbed wonder can now get one up on their rivals - after all, Spidey is so cool that he has now got a musical based on his 'life'.

Spiderman - Turn Off the Dark takes inspiration from the original comics by Stan Lee, the 2002 film about the character and even Greek myths to create a thrilling storyline that will delight children.

However, it is the stunts and special effects that make this production truly dazzling, as it features aerial fight scenes and actors hanging from webs.

The music is by Bono and The Edge from U2, so anyone going along from New York hotels can expect to hear great songs as they see geeky Peter Parker struggle with his transformation into a crime-fighting superhero.

However, Mary Jane and Aunt May help him along the way and the audience will be keen to see whether Peter gets the girl or has to surrender her to the Green Goblin.

Spiderman - Turn Off the Dark is showing at Foxwoods Theatre every day except Monday, but it may be best to head from the Millennium Broadway Hotel New York to see it on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, as these are listed as being typically the least busy.
