Baseball is America's national sport and it is well worth trying to catch a game when visiting any US city. Guests at New York hotels will be able to check out the Yankee Stadium during their trip, home of the world-famous Major League Baseball team the New York Yankees.

Located in The Bronx, the Yankee Stadium is the most expensive baseball ground ever constructed and opened its gates in 2009 to replace the old home turf across the street.

It is fun to visit even when there is no home game scheduled, as the New York Yankees Museum can be found on the lower level at Gate Six and this displays a huge array of memorabilia.

For example, there are hundreds of balls autographed by past and present players and the faithfully preserved locker of star player Thurman Munson, who died in a plane crash.

Fans can tour the stadium with a guide between 12:00 p.m. and 1:40 p.m. local time every day, which costs $20 for adults and $15 for children.

There are plenty of restaurants to choose from at the stadium, including a Hard Rock Cafe and the NYY Steak.

Visitors may find they develop a real passion for baseball after looking around this hallowed ground.
