Loring Park, Minneapolis

The Loring Park Art Festival celebrates its 15th year of bringing art to one of Minneapolis oldest and finest parks.

The two day event in Loring Park near downtown Minneapolis takes place on Saturday, August 2nd and Sunday, August 3rd from 10 to 5 at Oak Grove Street and Hennepin Avenue in Loring Park, near the Walker Art Center and the Basilica of Saint Mary.

Some 140 visual artists will display their original work in booths, including strolling musicians, scheduled stage performances, children's activities and food stands.

The art work presented is from a variety of media including painting, photography, printmaking, handmade paper, wood, jewelry, clay, sculpture, fibre, mixed media and glass.

Loring Park, with its beautiful ponds and formal gardens, makes an idyllic setting for art and music and the Loring Park Art Festival offers the greater metropolitan community an opportunity to enjoy this oasis just west of downtown Minneapolis.

Any culture lovers who are travelling to the event from outside the city and are looking for accommodation for the night are advised to try the Millennium Hotel Minneapolis, as it is just a short drive away from the park.
