The Durham Performing Arts Centre (DPAC) is set to host a weekend of traditional festive entertainment next month, when A Christmas Carol returns to the stage.

Shows will take place at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. EST on December 15th, with a third performance scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on December 16th.

Adapted for the stage by Ira David Wood III and based on Charles Dickens' classic tale, Theatre in the Park's musical comedy version of A Christmas Carol is one of the most successful shows in the history of theatre in North Carolina.

It was the first full-scale theatrical event to be staged at DPAC during its opening week in December 2008 and has since enjoyed critically acclaimed tours of England and France.

People planning to travel to Durham for the latest run of shows will find tickets priced between $57 and $77.

Theatre-goers could consider booking rooms at the Millennium Hotel Durham, which is just four miles away from the venue.
