Sufjan Stevens is set to play a special festive concert at the Metro in Chicago in the run-up to Christmas.

The multi-talented musician will be joined onstage by a host of special guests for the Saturday December 15th show as he supports his upcoming Christmas album, Silver and Gold.

While the show may be called 'The Surfjohn Stevens Christmas Sing-a-Long Seasonal Affective Disorder Yuletide Disaster Pageant on Ice', the songs promise to be much more catchy, with 'Grinches' warned to stay away.

According to the Metro itself, whimsical music fans booking into Chicago hotels for the festive show will also be treated to a wide range of low-cost props, including makeshift costumes and even cheap and cheerful presents to be distributed among the audience.

Fans looking to combine the concert with a spot of Christmas shopping will find themselves just moments from the world-famous stores of Michigan Avenue if they book into the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel Chicago.
