Explore the wonders of the World's Fair in Chicago
From 25 October 2013 To 07 September 2014Address
Chicago Field Museum, 1400 South Lake Shore Drive Chicago, IL 60605
In 1893, the Windy City was the host of an exciting World's Fair that showed off new inventions, exotic animals and cultural items from all over the world to delight its visitors.
More than a century later, guests at Chicago hotels can relive this exciting exhibition thanks to a new display at the city's Field Museum entitled Opening the Vaults: Wonders of the 1893 World's Fair.
In situ between October 25th 2013 and September 7th 2014, this will give people plenty of time to take a look around incredible artefacts and specimens, including a meteorite that was once so feared that it was kept chained in a dungeon.
Some of the objects have not been on public display since 1893, so it is well worth going along to take a look and see how scientists are still presenting new technology and inventions today.
Residents of the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel Chicago will be able to get to the Field Museum very easily in a taxi to view the exhibition, as it is just over ten minutes away by road.
