Enjoy Jazzin' at the Shedd this summer
From 26 June 2013 To 04 September 2013Address
Shedd Aquarium, 1200 South Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, 60605
The Shedd Aquarium in Chicago is well worth a visit at any time of year, but summer is an especially good time to go thanks to its special series of after-hours events.
The 19th season of Jazzin' at the Shedd will begin on June 26th and runs every Wednesday from then until September 4th.
Between 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. CDT, guests at Chicago hotels will be able to go along, enjoy cocktails under the stars and listen to jazz tunes performed by a rotating group of talented musicians on the lakeside terrace.
Some of the special exhibits will be open late, so there is also a chance to check out some of the sealife during breaks from the music.
Tickets cost $18 for adults and $16 for three to 11-year-olds and it is worth the price for the view from the terrace alone.
Residents of the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel Chicago can reach the aquarium in half an hour using the subway's red line towards 95th street, disembarking at Roosevelt, although a taxi may be the best option for the return journey.
A fantastic exhibition on science, technology and invention is coming to the Field Museum.
