Date From 03 December 2012 To 03 December 2012
Address Harris Theatre for Music & Dance, 205 East Randolph Street, Chicago, IL 60601, United States

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra will be performing a piece from the great Russian composer Sofia Gubaidulina at the Harris Theatre for Music & Dance on December 3rd.

This forms part of the venue's acclaimed MusicNOW programme - and the piece for 12 celli is entitled Labyrinth.

It was originally premiered last year - so audiences are to be treated to one of the most recent and cutting edge works of contemporary music.

While it was originally composed for a larger number of a single instrument, in Chicago it has been transposed for a string quartet.

Entry for the show is comprised of unreserved seating and costs $25 - and visitors to the city could book rooms at the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel Chicago.

This is conveniently situated a short, ten-minute drive away from the venue - and there is nothing simpler than jumping in a taxi to get there and back.
