America has some fantastic grassroots music and it is always well worth checking out a gig on a visit to any area of the vast country.

Guests at Buffalo hotels this spring can enjoy some blues/folk revival if they buy tickets for The Tarbox Ramblers at the city's Sportsmen's Tavern on May 11th.

The band combine traditional Appalachian music with blues and even gospel to produce their distinctive sound, which has won rave reviews from the likes of The New Yorker, All Things Considered and Rolling Stone.

Robert Plant is one famous fan of The Tarbox Ramblers and he invited them to tour with him after once being amazed by one of their gigs.

Tickets for this show can be bought for just $10 in advance or $15 on the door, so seeing a gig could be a great value evening out for people of all age groups.

Residents of the Millennium Hotel Buffalo can reach the venue in around 12 minutes by car, so taking a taxi may be the best way to get to and from the event.
