Colorado may be a relatively long way from the Arctic, but that will not stop families from being able to explore it if they happen to be taking a holiday in the US state this spring.

The University of Colorado Museum of Natural History will be hosting an Awesome Arctic Family Day, which guests at Boulder hotels will be able to visit on April 13th.

Admission is completely free and the event runs from 10:00 until 16:00 MDT.

There will be plenty to interest visitors of all ages, with attendees able to try on a blubber mitt, see Arctic creatures up close, build a totem pole just like people from the Arctic have done for thousands of years and make snow goggles.

Lots of information will be provided on the day, so kids in particular will learn plenty of facts as they enjoy a great day out.

The Museum of Natural History is easy to reach from the Millennium Harvest House Boulder, as the two venues are only a 20-minute walk apart.
