Their name may not immediately inspire confidence, but there is certainly nothing average about Average White Band.
The group produced their first record - Show Your Hand - in 1973 and the six-piece band have been thrilling live audiences with their unique soulful and funky sounds ever since.
Perhaps best known for their hit song Pick Up the Pieces, Average White Band have had several gold-selling albums and have been nominated for numerous Grammy Awards during their lengthy career in the music industry.
The group have roots in Scotland, but such is the popularity of their tunes, they have managed to build an impressive fanbase on a global scale.
People who travel to Boston on October 12th can see the six-piece in action, as they are scheduled to appear at the Wilbur Theatre.
The venue is conveniently placed for anyone staying at the Millennium Bostonian Hotel Boston, which is less than a mile away and can be reached on the city's Green Line subway service.
Goo Goo Dolls will play in Boston next month.
