Boston to welcome annual anime event
From 24 May 2013 To 26 May 2013Address
Hynes Convention Center, 900 Boylston Street, Boston, MA 02115
Anime is hugely popular in Japanese cartoons and often features characters with big eyes to convey emotion.
It has been around in Japan since the early 20th century, but enjoyed a renaissance in the 1980s and 1990s thanks to popular culture such as Pokemon that helped to bring it to the masses in the west.
Anime events are frequently held all over the globe to bring fans of all ages together - and one such gathering is Anime Boston, which is to be hosted at the Hynes Convention Center from May 24th to 26th 2013.
Visitors will be able to enjoy everything from book releases and anime video shows to karaoke and a manga library, so booking into a Boston hotel in order to go along on more than one day could be a good idea.
Guest speakers for this year include Chris Ayres, Kari Wahlgren and Lauren Landa, all of who are sure to provide fascinating insights into the anime world.
The Convention Center is easy to reach from the Millennium Bostonian Hotel Boston - just take the green line of the light rail service from Government Center Station.
An exhibition at a museum in Boston will show how the poses of people in Renaissance paintings are significant.
