While any trip to Alaska is likely to offer up some awe-inspiring sights for the discerning tourist, a trip to the Anchorage Museum could provide a few sights to behold.
Head down there any time after October 4th and you’ll be treated to work from some of the finest watercolour painters in all of Alaska courtesy of the Annual Alaska Watercolour Society Juried Exhibition.
Now in its 39th year, the exhibition showcases the sheer variety of styles from abstract to more traditional works currently being produced in the region.
Running through until February 9th, this could be the perfect stop off during a stay at the Millennium Alaskan Hotel Anchorage, with prices likely to be competitive given the time of year.
Head down soon and you may even encounter Donna Zagotta, an award-winning watercolour painter from the region with 20 years of experience who is an Exhibition juror at this year’s event.
With plenty to stimulate the senses, this is not to be missed.
