Locations & Attractions|Queen Sirikit National Convention CentreThe Queen Sirikit Centre combines the functionality of modern architectural design with the aesthetics of traditional Thai architecture. Construction of this exhibition and convention centre was completed in 1991 and was originally intended to host the 46th Annual International Monetary Fund sessions. It is a large spacious complex with the floor area of the main hall and the compound area amounting to more than 35,000 square feet. The plenary hall which is equipped with the latest technology can hold up to 5,000 people. The hall features a state of the art shadow less illumination system which can be programmed to provide a number of lighting effects. A simultaneous interpretation system that can provide language translation for six languages has also been installed at the plenary hall. The centre also boasts of a well equipped business centre that provides wireless internet access, voice and data communication and teleconferencing facilities. A currency exchange, an ATM, a post office and a convenience store are also located within the compound.
