The delectable Chan Marshall, aka Cat Power, will be playing at New York's famous Apollo Theatre for two nights next month.

On February 6th and 7th, the singer-songwriter from Atlanta will be performing material from her 2008 covers album, Jukebox.

Cat Power - whose stage shows have improved drastically in recent years from the days when she often fled venues crippled by stage fright - also has a rich back catalogue of original songs, often consisting of sparse piano and guitar arrangements.

She has had great success over the last 15 years with albums including 1998's Moon Pix and 2003's You Are Free.

Among the songs included on Jukebox are covers of New York as popularised by Lisa Minelli and Frank Sinatra; James Brown's Lost Someone; I Believe in You by Bob Dylan and Blue by Joni Mitchell.

Tickets for the two New York nights are on sale now and cost $36 for the Friday or the Saturday.
