Anyone visiting New York at the end of this month will be able to catch some free live blues on the waterfront at Pier 54, in Hudson River Park.

Those attending the mini-festival will also be able to enjoy a tasty barbecue, before sitting back and looking up at the sky for a fireworks display once darkness falls.

Part of the park's annual summer schedule and a New York institution in its own right, Blues BBQ will take place from 2:00pm to 9:00pm on August 24th.

This year sees the Juke Joint Duo, Larry Garner, Sugar Blue, Alexis P. Suter Band and Eugene 'Hideaway' Bridges all take to the stage in what is sure to be a memorable day of good music, fine food and hopefully pleasant weather.

Hudson River Park extends from 59th Street south to Battery Park in Manhattan and connects the World Trade Center site to the Winter Garden, Chelsea Piers, and Pier 63 - where historic sea vessels lightship Frying Pan and fireboat John J Harvey now reside.
