Examine Andy Warhol's influence at NYC's Met Museum

Date From 18 September 2012 To 31 December 2012
Address Metropolitan Museum of Art, 6 East 82nd Street, Manhattan, NY 10028

Andy Warhol was one of the most famous artists of the 20th century and many households around the world have a copy of his much-loved, multicoloured portrait quad of Marilyn Monroe hanging on their walls.

However, a lot of them may be unaware of his lasting influence on the art world, something a new exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art aims to rectify.

Regarding Warhol - Sixty Artists, Fifty Years will be showing at the institution between September 18th and December 31st this year and will be built around five themes ranging from sexual identity to celebrity portraiture.

Guests at New York hotels will notice that only a quarter of the 150 works of art are Warhol's - the rest are by leading contemporary artists to demonstrate how they have gone on to develop his methods in creative new directions.

Residents staying at the Premier Hotel New York can get to the Met Museum in just over ten minutes in a taxi and it is open every day except Monday.
